The Planet Earth’s #1 Besteller; The Bible

A lot of books win the prestigious title; New York Times Bestseller. That’s a huge honor. You have to sell 5 to 10 thousand copies of your book within a specific week time period to make it on the list. That’s incredibly difficult.

Now I want you to think of The Bible. A book that much of the world claims is false, fictional, and unworthy of attention. The Bible has sold 6 billion more copies then the second most published book in the world.

The Bible is Planet Earth’s #1 Bestseller. No book has ever outdone the Bible. Not in copies sold, not in copies read, and certainly not in powerful content. It’s the greatest adventure story ever told, the greatest romance, war story, hero epic, and more. It’s words never change, and they stand for all of time. Name me another book like that, a book that can claim GOD as the author.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the power of God’s word this week, and I encourage you to reflect too. The Bible is one of the greatest gifts that mankind has ever received. A guide book on how to live our lives and glorify God. Praise the Lord for His book!

Book Recommendation

This week’s book recommendation is The Door Within Trilogy. If you enjoy Christian fantasy, this book series is a great read. It’s focused on a younger adult audience, but can be enjoyed by all ages. I read it around the age of 13, and it’s stuck with me as one of the greatest trilogies I’ve ever read. It’s an incredible allegory of the life of a Christian, serving the King, and living our lives in struggle against the forces of darkness. You really get attached to the main characters, and the author; Wayne Thomas Batson, does a great job with the imagery in the stories. Benefits of Book Reading

Books allow you to temporarily have a second mind, as you retain the knowledge, experience and perspective of another person. Two minds are better then one!
Reading allows you to visit places you’ve only dreamed of going.
You can spend years learning from your own mistakes—or spend mere hours reading a book to learn from someone else’s.

Writing Tip

This week’s writing tip is about your writing setup. Before you begin, look around you. Is your phone nearby? A book? A half-finished project? A snack? A drink? Everything around you can either help you focus or pull you away from your work. Build your setup intentionally. For me, that means having pictures nearby to fuel my imagination, a snack to keep me going, and a drink to stay refreshed. Most importantly, I try to keep distractions to a minimum. A good setup can help you stay focused and motivated far longer than you might expect. Instead of stopping after 25–30 minutes, I can often work for one to two hours before taking a break. Then I get up, take a short walk, refill my water, grab a snack, and start again.
Don't just prepare yourself to write. Prepare your environment to help you write.
